About Deborah Hornberger:
Deborah Hornberger's expertise is strategic planning
and product development for financial services firms. With more
than twenty years of in marketing management, she helps her clients
acquire new high net worth affluent customers and increase the value
of existing relationships.
As a consultant, Deborah has lead numerous product
development teams. Products include mini-trusts
(fill-in-the-bank living trusts starting at $50,000), probate avoidance
products, a small company 401(k) plan, employee banking, and investment
products.
Strategic planning has focused on:
- creating a new Internet-only bank,
- increasing market share of retirement assets,
- assessing new target markets,
- designing a new Private Bank for $5 million
plus clients,
- restructuring the delivery of bank brokerage
services, and
- integrating the delivery of business and
personal banking
- services to affluent small business owners.

Her clients include large
brokerage firms, and mutual fund companies, national and regional
banks, and community banks that target small to mid-sized businesses
and wealthy individuals.
Prior to becoming a management consultant in 1992,
Deborah was employed at Charles Schwab & Co., where she managed
the marketing for the new trust brokerage division in which assets
increased over $4 billion in two years. During that time she developed
and introduced Schwab's Designated Beneficiary Plan.
As Director of Marketing for Wells Fargo's Trust
and Investment Group, she created and introduced WELLS TRUST, which
was marketed mainly through the retail branches and accounted for
25% of all new business within six months. Product development included
the systems, operations and procedures, as well as a new sales incentive
program, employee training and collateral materials.
Deborah received a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing
from The Ohio State University, an M.B.A. in Financial Planning
from Golden Gate University and has obtained her Series 7 and 63
registered representative broker's licenses. She is accredited by
the Institute of Management Consultants as a Certified Management
Consultant and by the Institute of Certified Bankers as a Certified
Financial Marketing Professional. Deborah
has been President of the Northern California Chapter of
the Institute of Management Consultants and serves on various community
boards.
